I was born in Haugesund (Norway) in 1982, and moved to Bergen in 2003. Completed a Master's degree in Religious Studies at the University of Bergen during the spring of 2009. Started a four year research position as a Ph.D. candidate in September 2010.
General research interests includes evolutionary and cognitive approaches to religion, experimental research, theories of religion, Parsi Zoroastrianism, and relational models theory. I'm particularly interested in the fact that people seem to establish meaningful social relationships with non-human agents (e.g. gods, angels, fires). Exploring the cognitive, emotional and motivational aspects of such behavior and thought in an empirical context is the subject of my dissertation research.
